How can we BUY for MORE and SELL for LESS?

How much more do you pay for used textbooks?

It depends on the book you are selling. Since the price we pay for used textbooks is based on a real market value (not what a wholesale company tells us), many times we can pay double or triple what our competitors pay; sometimes we pay just a bit more than our competitors; but we always pay more.

When can I sell my used textbooks to Beat The Bookstore?

You can sell us your textbooks at anytime. We buy back everyday, however, to get the most money for your used books, you should sell them between the end of the semester or quarter and the beginning of the next one.

What can I do to pay less for textbooks?

Because we sell textbooks for less, they sell out quickly. So, as soon as you register for your classes, bring in your new class schedule to Beat The Bookstore. One of our knowledgeable associates will make sure you get the right books for your classes.

What do I do when the class I’m taking is using a brand new edition?

Talk to the professor to see if you can still use the old edition. Many times new editions are very similar to the old editions. Sometimes they are identical. If your professor gives you the green light, you will be able to find the old edition for much cheaper. In fact, whenever a new edition is released and listed for use in a class, we contact the professor or department for you and if we get the green light on the old edition, we’ll sell it to you for a lot less.

Can I buy textbooks cheaper on the Internet?

Sometimes, but be leary of shipping lead times and expenses, return policies and accurate book descriptions. At Beat The Bookstore we want you to get your books as cheaply as possible, so if you find a good and reputable deal on the Internet—take it! If you get stuck with something else, bring it to us. We can probably buy it from you and get you the right one (happens all the time).
